Project
Overview

Council buildings contribute a major amount of carbon dioxide to the environment. This is done by the buildings burning fossil fuels for electrical energy, heating and other purposes. This way of creating energy is not energy efficient.

Mentioned above green house gases are affecting climate change and also contribute major expense with costs which are set to increase over the coming years.

Calderdale Council’s Environmental policy sets a challenging target to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by 40% (compared to 2005 levels) by 2020.

Our
Solution

Energy efficiency is the most cost effective way to reduce our emissions of carbon dioxide.

Only 17% of all the electricity used by Calderdale Council is now generated from certified renewable energy sources. This results in a carbon dioxide saving of around 1,020 tonnes per year.

To meet ambitious targets, more Solar Panel systems need to be installed across council owned buildings.

What Were
The Results

The shinny 184 Solar Panels were installed using K2 mounting system.

Now up-and-running, it is generating in excess of 30,000 kWh of electricity per year, giving the client substantial reductions on their energy bills and reducing their environmental impact by over 20 tonnes annually.

Used SolarEdge inverters and monitoring software allows to observe panel level performance as well as adds extra yield.

Due to high power consumption by Leisure centre, this system payback was really impressive.
