Project
Overview

Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) is one of the top 100 most improved schools in England, recognised as a centre of excellence for pupils between the ages of 11-18.

Its vision is to create a fantastic future for all students. MEA needed to create more space to accommodate the city’s growing number of pupils and called in our local team of education specialists to expand the school.

Our
Solution

Griff Services Ltd was appointed as a specialist contractor to install a solar panel array as a part of £10M investment.

The PV system was installed without any penetration of the waterproofing of the roof deck, ensuring the integrity of the roof which was a fundamental requirement.

What Were
The Results

The 61㎡ of solar arrays enables the Academy to generate a whopping 8235 kWh solar energy every year and achieve a annual saving worth thousands of pounds, which can now be spent in areas requiring most attention.

Producing renewable energy also has a massive impact on the environment, reducing Co2 emissions of 4.93 tonnes.
